From the Murky Waters, the Lotus Blooms. Between Hinduism, Buddhism, Ancient Egypt and Greece, the lotus is always renowned for its purity. The Lotus Seed is a reminder to maintain your peace and purity through all obstacles in the path. Red Agate is a stone to promote safety, grounding, and root vitality.
A Mala is a string of beads used traditionally to count mantra while meditating, also worn as a necklace or bracelet. A Mantra is a group of words, a syllable, or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.
In Tibet, Buddhists make a habit of repeating the mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum', with intention of aligning to the best scenarios. Start by repeating the sound of 'Om (Aum)' to clear the mental chatter.
Using Mala, we move the beads in a loop through our fingers, starting at the Guru center, and repeating mantra for each of the 108 beads until we return back to the center bead.
You may forget to keep count and just stay grounded in the touch sensation, moving between beads. We repeat our mantra 108 times, as these significant digits align with key Hindu, Buddhist, and Cosmological concepts.
By strengthening our Meditation and practicing 'the art ofdoing nothing', we learn to balance the modern demand of 'getting out in the marketplace' with our 'cultivating the inner quiet space'.
